Ref: Richard E Covert Message: Panasonic Laser Printer Day One Hello Richard, I also just got my HP Laser Jet IIp on December 8th. Due to the limited lines on my BITNET mailing system I am unable to share my experience with the IIp with Spectre GCR, PC-Ditto, TimeWorks DTP and Calamus and DynaCAD in greater detail with the netter as what you have done. While waiting for the IIp to print Calamus Documents (Only 1/2 page at a time as I bought mine with only 512K) one thing flash to my mind. As you all know that the SLM804 uses the RICOH engine but stripped all the RAM and making use of the Atari RAMs for printing thus required a minimum of 2MB computer (MEGA2) to print. However, RICOH also marketing the printer with their own brand name with internal RAMs. Would it be possible to modify the SLM804 printer interface box to fit to your Panasonic and my HP IIp so that they can be connected to the Atari DMA port. We then do not have to wait when using Atari Prg. A switch to select between DMA and Parallel/Serial will make them versatile & inexpensive printers. Suthipunth
