[comp.sys.atari.st] WINNER "UFO" JoyStick

Howdy folks,

If you are tired of the 'same old same old' joystick, give the Winner
UFO joystick a try. This is an infrared cordless mouse that looks like
a yellow version of the American Stealth bomber. It is great.
Your left thumb controls the directions via a small pressure knob and
your right contrils the fire buttons. Interestingly, there is a 'turbo'
mode which gives you rapid fire. Yep, this box gives rapid fire for the
ST.
The receiver is a big ugly yellow box about the size of a fat deck
of cards. Double adhesive tape is included so that you can attach this
thing to your computer's side.
The infrared transmitter is powerful! You do not have to be careful
to aim the stick toward the receiver at all. Indeed, I was playing Joust
from about thirty feet. Sheesh, I didn't last long. Couldn't see the
screen!
This is an impressive peripheral. Playing games while standing up
lends to strange gyrations since you are no longer strapped to a chair.
I can imagine how this thing could be via a projection tv and some
really graphics/action intensive game. Shades of Star Trek's HoloDeck!
At any rate, I'm impressed, and the the klutz in me loves the rapid
fire, something that I've never been able to get on any other joystick
for the ST.
Just thought that everyone might like to know about this one. I've
never seen it before. Oh well, back to my real world.... COBOL. sigh
