[comp.sys.atari.st] EPROM Burners

dac@ukc.ac.uk (David Clear) (02/10/89)

I am looking for a source of EPROM programmers for the atari ST. I am interested
in dumping my own utilities on to EPROM so they can be plugged into the
cartridge port of the ST. In the UK there is a company called DATEL Electronics
which produces EPROM burners for the Commodore 64 and "Amiga" (whatever that
is). Does anyone know of a company which produces EPROM burners for the ST at
a decent price (ie below 150 pounds).
	Thanks for the info.

Anyone know of a good, inexpensive EPROM burner for the ST? I bought one for
an (dare I say it here) IBM clone, was about $130, and it did very well for
what I need. Unfortunately, the IBM emulators have no provision for plug in
cards, sooo it looks like we have to buy a serial burner or something special
for the ST. Now, serial EPROM burners generally come in at the price of a
vanilla XT clone here in Toronto, so it would be possible to buy one of those
and plug in the existing burner, but I get this terrible queasy feeling every
time I start to use DOS. Hmmm, maybe I should adapt the one I use on my PET,
the one that only burns 2516's and 2732's....
Any ideas, folks?
                 Thanks.
