Does anyone have experience using the SLM804 with TeX/LaTeX. I have got TeX up and running and use the excellent program DVI2SLM to output the results. The output however is not very good. Now as I understand it the SLM is a 300dpi laser printer same as the HP laser, Apple laser etc. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong as the output I get at the standard 10pt size is -please excuse- very thin. By that I mean eg. in cmr10 the lower sweep of the 'e' character actually breaks into seperate dots. Someone at this site suggested using METAFONT. I did get it working but I have no idea of the setting for the SLM. Can someone i) send me the '.MF' file for the SLM804 (this has to be mainly for interest as it takes a long....time to make even CMR10) and ii) direct me to a place where I might get the fonts - I can do mail but I'm not sure if I can FTP anywhere not in the UK. As I only get to read the list intermittently could you mail me and I'll make up a summary and post it to the list. Many thanks in advance Steve C.
