The entrepeneur that I said was looking for info on programming the Portfolio called Atari USA. When the call was answered, he requested that he not be put on hold because of the very long distance he was calling but, guess what, hold city!! When someone finally fielded his call, he was advised to call the 800 line for info. After he explained that this line was not reachable from Canada, he was transferred to, supposedly, a tech support person. Again he was advised to call the 800 line and again he explained why he could not. He related his request about developing equipment with the Portfolio as a controller and was told that a developer's kit existed. He was further told that codes were to be written on a standard PC and ported to the Portfolio. When he asked for details the tech person said that he had none, he had only heard about the package. C'mon Atari, if you want to sell computers then support legitimate requests for info. Does a developer's package exist or not? If so, what about a part number to order it. Has anyone on the net seen the package? I would appreciate it if someone from Atari who accesses this net would pass my posting onto a tech div. of Atari so that this matter can be clarified. Let's see how Atari stands behind its product with support.
