[comp.sys.atari.st] 6581

ZDAC810@elm.cc.kcl.ac.UK ("Bru von Mousewielder.") (03/08/90)

I am in need of hardware information on the 6581 sound chip (ie SID in the
Commodore 64), in particular the data sheets.

I am also possibly interested in getting hold of some 6581s, but have found them
somewhat expensive (around 15-20 pounds), which is made worse by the fact that
I may want about 8 of them!! Anyone know where I can get hold of these cheap??
(Apart from by cannibalising old '64s!!)

Thanks for replies re: MIDI data file format.

Marcus Bointon asks about sources and data for the 6581 SID chip...

One source is a company called JAMECO in the USA... they list most of the
Commodore-64 chips, including the SID ( $12.95 US ).

Their order number is (415) 592-8097 (they're in the Pacific Time Zone)

They may also be able to supply specifications on the 6581.
