I recall reading some time ago a posting about choosing a new printer under Spectre. I have to choose a printer driver that I bought. It is a "chooser document" and also has a separate file to choose cartridges (for the HP LJ IIp). It is part of the Macprint program. I tried to use a real Mac, called chooser, chose HP LJ IIp, turned AppleTalk off (as I seem to recall that is what the posting in c.s.atari.st said to do), copied the system, made a .sit and then .hqf file of it. Uploaded it to my unix account and downloaded it to the ST in Spectre mode, unscrambled and unstuffed it, chose the new file as system to boot from HD and so on. But when I run Spectre I get the Mac welcome screen, and then an error/restart message saying that an Important Resource Could not be loaded...(no name given :-( )...and of course restart causes a crash. On the other hand if I use the original system file I had and call Choose Printer then the HP driver file does not show up....if I call chooser it does appear I click on it (with AppleTalk disconnected), and it crashes a second later :-( I bought this Macprint program especially for using under Spectre and with my LJ II p...so HELP ! What am I doing wrong? Imran Anwar
