wngai@paris.ics.uci.edu (Wayne Ngai) (02/25/90)

I have recently bought an Epson LQ-510, I don't seem to be able to print
a desktop screen using ALT-HELP command. Is there anything I need to
adjust? If so, what?? Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!!

You need to get a program called PRTST24 written by Dan Wilga of
Gribnif software. (These are the people that sell NEODESK).

You can get this program from GEnie (which is where I got it and why I can't
post it to USENET) or you can order Gribnif's PD disk for $10 and get it.

ps. I downloaded several programs from GEnie do solve this problem, and
PRTST24 is by far the best of the lot.

Whoops, that program is really named SCRDMP24! The brain was a bit fogged
when I posted this. :-)

Andy, I'm afraid your brain was _still_ a bit fogged. 415 is the area
code for the San Francisco area. Perhaps you meant 413 (western MA)?

Yeah, that was it. Dang, is Mavis Beacon working on TOS 1.4 yet? :-)

Anyway, there are many more programs which allow this. I for example am
using a program called fx_emu.prg which is by NEC.

I hoped TOS 1.4 will overcome this nasty "feature" but it isn't. Sigh.
If Atari used the right Codes, the could have made a hardcopy which works
on both, 9 pin and 24 pin, printers.

Stefan Lindner's TeX-Driver (nl10.ttp) does this. The output isn't too well,
and the pagesizes are distorted, but you can print with it.

Allan, what about including 24 pin support in the next release of TOS?
It can't be that much work and it is well worth it (IMHO)...

Greetings,
				RIPLEY
