swklassen@tiger.waterloo.edu (Steven W. Klassen) (03/13/90)
Due to the large amount of e-mail I received I have decided to post my toolkit to the sources archive. I must say I was surprised by the number of responses; when I first posted to see how many were interested (about 6 or 7 months ago) I got almost no response (only 2 or 3 replies) so I scrapped the project, resurrecting it only a short while ago when I needed some of the routines for something else. I also received a couple of responses saying they thought my toolkit was too trivial and should contain things like AVL and B+ trees. To these people I say that you are correct and that it should (and likely will some day) but I decided to post what I have already completed so that others can use it and perhaps weed out any bugs that I have missed. If you have routines that you would like to see in such a toolkit please let me know and I may include them in a future release. In addition, if you have code which you have written but do not want to go to the trouble of putting it in a package to make available to others, I would be interested in including relevant stuff in a future version of this toolkit. As I mentioned yesterday, my next version of the toolkit will contain a linear algebra package. I have received a few responses as to what people would like to see in it and I would like to receive more ideas. Thanks for all your replies. Steven W.
