[comp.sys.atari.st] GEMINI... My evil twin.. HELP?

cs325ec@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (03/03/90)

Anyone try out Gemini yet? I run Gemini.prg after booting
with either AMCGDOS or GPLUS and get two bombs...???

Anyone got it to work want to comment? I tried removing
every auto prg and acc save amcgdos and shell0... No luck.

Went through the configs... set it for drive C: still
	no luck.

Damn, I really wanted it to work... Is it any good in
	a 1040 anyway? (Memory usage?)

	Thanks for any tips

I also got a bus error (2 bombs) on running Gemini. I ran it with the MonST
68000 debugger and found out it was accessing priviledged memory. I set it to
supervisor mode and let it continue. It then announced that it doesn't work
with TOS releases below 1.2 :-(

I've had my STFM quite a while and, depending on what program I ask, I either
have 1.08 or 1.00 (I think it's the former).

Oh well... better go out and buy Rainbow TOS :-) (I wish I could afford it!)

Dave.

Well, I was looking foward to using it too. I de-zoo'ed it, and started
picking throught the DOC files, which are in German, of course. Well, the
first paragraph answered the problem I had. It requires TOS 1.2, 1.4, or
1.6. So if you have 1.0, thats probably your problem, like mine.

This can't be the problem. Of course Gemini checks the TOS version
and displays an error message on old roms.

That can't be. When I took my Gemini-disk to a friend who only has TOS 1.0
it behaved correctly. It displayed an alert-box "I only run on TOS 1.0 or newer"
and afterwards it went back to the desktop.
No bombs.

Anyway, the posted version is out of date. It is 1.0 and I already got 1.1,
which is much better...

That's not true. I tried Gemini on two different ST's, one with the old
ROMs, one with new ROMs. In the first case, I got just TWO BOMBS, but
all was fine in the second case...

Could someone please post Gemini 1.1? If not, where can it be found? GEnie?
What has been changed from version 1.0? So many questions, so little time.
