Open question to the net-
I am looking for info regarding purchase of furniture
via outlets in High Point, NC.

I wrote to the Chamber of Commerce in High Point and
received an infomation sheet with 26 furniture dealers in
High Point which represent numerous furnture manufactures.
All are registered with the C of C and the BBB, and all
are Dunn & Bradstreet rated.
I inquired prices and shipping info from a couple and found
them to undercut local retail by 35 to 40% even with shipping
costs.

No local sales taxes are levied, and one outlet called
the factory and gave me availabilty dates.
Some dealers have their own trucks which shipped to the NJ-NY
area weekly and set-up and removal of cartons is included!
This seems to be full service.

Now-
Is this a good deal? Are the dealers "reliable"?
I am going to pop for big bucks on the furniture, so if I
can save over the local retail by 40% and lose nothing, it seems
like High Point is the way to go.
Has anyone out there any experience with High Point buying?

Thanx in advance.

I used to live in Greensboro, N.C. which is very close to High Point.
While there, I purchased the majority of the furniture which I now have.
After comparing prices of furniture here in N.J. with those in N.C., I
realized just how much money I saved. I also recommended High Point to a
friend of mine and he ended up furnishing his entire house. The larger
the shippment, the more money you save. If you do not have a very large
order I would suggest asking around to see if there might be someone willing
to include their order with yours.

Well, actually, old boy, I get most of my furniture from Harrods and
Heals at 10%-20% orf.

I believe that they are reputable firms.

Toodle-ooo, pip-pip,
