Nick Heyward's recent release (its name escapes me at the moment) is superb! And it is very much in the same vein as Haircut's "Pelican West" release--after all, Heyward did do the bulk (all?) of the writing. That's not to say it's identical stylistically, but the style is uniquely identifiable. I really can't say enough about this album--I can't seem to seperate it from my turntable. "The Kick of Love" is especially nice--it's an interesting mix of jazz, funk, big band, and "new" music. Maybe this is what fusion really means!?! Other great cuts include "Take that Situation," "Atlantic Monday," and "The Day it Rained Forever." Check it out. You won't be disappointed (especially if you have any like of Haircut 100)!
