longj@LONEX.RADC.AF.MIL (Jeffrey K. Long) describes a problem with Vault 2.01 crashing just as it begins to write to a newly formatted backup disk. I experienced a similar problem and, with the help of Vault's author, traced it to a conflict between Vault and the ICD supplied utility program COPYFIX.PRG in my Auto folder. Several people had asked about problems I'd had with Vault and (I thought, Universal Item Selector II)... sorry I wasn't able to reply before this, but I only recently had the time to reconfigure my system to try to duplicate the problems... and naturally, I can't get it to reoccur... It just may have been as others have reported, that certain combinations of AUTO folder programs conflict, and that my cold rebooting with no AUTO folder programs at all cleared it up... At any rate, when run that way, Vault worked perfectly... BobR
