Sounds like a terrific idea. Would anyone care to go thru all of the old
postings and distill all the best information into a book? (I thought not...)

What exactly can we put into a monthly posting? The intro to comp.binaries
is already posted every month, and describes how to get stuff from the archive
sites. That seems to be the best we can really do - all the resources are
there, at the archive sites, you just need to know how to get to them.

The problem with actually digesting usenet info is verifying the accuracy
or usefulness of the information. This would be highly time-consuming...
And I don't know of any site that actually archives all of the discussion
newsgroup. A lot of good info comes down the pipe, and apparently flows to
the bitbucket. This newsgroup could seriously use the equivalent of a
moderator, more like an editor or librarian. Not to censor what gets posted,
but to cull thru postings and select info for archiving. Anyone care to
volunteer?
