I just bought a used version of MT C Shell v 1.1. I am having a bit of trouble that I was hoping someone could help me out with. I configure the \etc\ttys file for the modem by doing a 17tty1: The result is that when I turn on MT C Shell by doing a INIT2.PRG, the send-receive lights on the modem go nuts, and the hard drive starts accessing like crazy. (I think MT's version of "getty" is freaking out.) When I turn the modem off, this thing settles down and initializes, but then I cannot dial in to the system. My modem answers the phone, but does not emit a carrier tone. Any answers out there? This is running on a 1 Meg system, which the manual implies is just fine. I hope that you are not going to tell me that I need a memory upgrade. Its kinda important that I get this working, since this is the purpose that I bought the shell for in the first place. SO, if this doesn't work, I am gonn ahave to get a memory upgrade and get MINIX. - Rob DeMillo | Internet: rjd@brown.cs.edu Brown University | Also Internet: demillo@juliet.ll.mit.edu Planetary Science Group | Reality: 401-273-0804 (home) "I say you *are* the Messiah, Lord!
