A friend and I recently tried to get MX2NET20 to work without success. This is a collection of programs that allow you to access a remote computer's drive locally through the MIDI or RS232 ports. We tried everything imaginable but were unable to get ANYTHING transfered between the computers. We were using the MIDI ports at first and then tried the RS232 ports at 19,200 and 9600 baud. No luck. The only thing we DID manage to do is make the computers BEEP when we ran the MX2NET program.. sigh.. We were using a mono 1040ST and a colour Mega ST. Before anyone asks, the MIDI cables were hooked up correctly, and my null modem connector works beautifully (we verified this with a terminal program). I know there are several commercial networks out there (SGS and Lantech come to mind), but I don't want to spend gobs and gobs of money just to network two computers. The reason I'd like this to work is that we are working on a big project and would like to have the source files stored on one place. Does anyone know if RCS (revision control system) is available in one form or another for the ST? ?? ? oh yes, I got MX2NET20 from terminator.cc.umich.edu. thanks for any help , _____________________________________________________________________________ Digitally Mastered Software 1010101001101010110100100101001110011010111010010 ============================================================================= Albert Yarusso, Rochester ajy2208@ritvax.bitnet Institute of Tech. _________________________________________________________ Computer Science /___ / {rutgers, ames}!rochester!ultb!ajy2208 ______________________/ / ajy2208@ultb!isc!rit.edu
