Announcement: A WORKSHOP ON DESKTOP MOLECULAR VISUALIZATION 'an exploration of the role of personal computers in molecular modeling and graphics' sponsored by the Molecular Graphics Society of the Americas The limits of molecular modeling, graphics, presentation, and molecular biology visualization on personal computers (i.e. IBM PC's, Apple Macintosh, and the NeXT machine) will be explored. The workshop will include invited speakers as well as contributed talks, posters, and vendor displays. Workshop proceedings and demo software will be distributed on CD-ROM. when: Aug. 23-25,1990 (right before the ACS meeting...) where: Holiday Inn, Bethesda, MD. If you are interested in attending or speaking please contact: Dr. William R. Light, Code 6090, Naval Research Lab Washington D.C. 20375-5000 telephone: (202) 767 1154 arpanet: Light1@nrl3.nrl.navy.mil *************************************************************** how about it, is anyone doing molecular graphics with Atari's?

There is a program here in the UK, called MolGraph, which does this kind of thing. It was covered in the last issue of ST World, and is available from the ST Club. In the latest ST World Mag (UK) There was a feature on molecular modeling on the ST. I think the software is available from ST Club in the UK for a cheep 15pounds. I know nothing about molecular modeling so will not comment on what I think the S/W is like. Dave H. (D.C.Halliday@newcastle.ac.uk)

About Genesis: Could you describe some of the things you can do with Genesis for the ST, and tell us about how you came up with it? Also, what is its status currently?
SML108@psuvm.psu.edu (Scott the Great) (04/14/90)
Genesis allows one to create and graphically edit molecules in 3-d either with Stereotek glasses or with Anaglyph glasses. It also allows one to look at crystallographic data and modify it. It is currently available from Antic software and a new Atari program is in the works which is far more up to date and creates 512 color CPK drawings with a much better interface... Scott Feel free to bug me about my program in e-mail...
