I just popped in my TOS 1.4 and booted Gemini for the first time instead of MUPFEL/VENUS. I tried G+PLUS 1.? and the G+FLAIR that came with my World Flair and in both instances, the console window works only with TypeWriter or System fonts, the others appear as garbage characters (Gemini.fnt etc.). Anyone have any ideas? I'll try AMCGDOS, but I can't believe that it would work where G+Plus failed... Thanks in advance. -- Greg

Gemini seems to be dependant upon AMC GDOS to use the Gemini and TMail screen fonts correctly. This wouldn't matter so much except for the fact that if you use the Gemini desktop, you can't use the G+Plus auto-install option with Gemini, to my knowledge. This forces you to create a single assign.sys file that works with everything. This is a real limitation because Opus is VERY picky about how the assign.sys file is set up. To Stefan Eissing or any other knowledgeable Gemini/Venus experts: Is there any way to use G+Plus Install with Gemini? Can you force Gemini to temporarily "let go" of GDOS before executing another GDOS program? If not, is there a way then to force Gemini not to use GDOS at all?!? This is the only reason I have to *not* use Gemini. Are there any G+Plus experts that know of a work-around? Please, someone, ANYONE - what's the trick? Craig P.S. If you get macfonts.arc from somewhere (I got it at the Netherlands FTP), you can use monaco 9pt and a few others (courier now works) from that file with gemini. Then you don't need the Gemini fonts etc. -- Greg
