The document describing this is ANSI X3.9-1978. This is NOT a standard for Unix but a standard for everyone. Unix compilers *should* follow this standard. The Prospero compiler for the ST may be Fortran 77 compilant, if not it should be quite close. There is a new ANSI standard called Fortran 90 (ANSI X3J3) which is not quite out yet. This is the result of a *large* amount of work and is much larger than Fortran 77. There are no compilers for Fortran 90 at present.
