well folks, as of 1:15 pm today (Monday May 28, 1990), I, Ignac A. Kolenko, have left Branch Always Software. The parting was an amicable one, and is due to the following reasons: 1 - too much spare time invested, with not enough return on investment (the PACE show was an excellent example of time wasted ... also, i have a full time job at Electrohome Inc, in Kitchener, Ont, and after an 8 hour day, i just DON'T feel like touching a computer in my spare time unless it's REALLY worth my while) 2 - at first it was fun, now it's just become a pain in the butt, quite frankly. my girlfriend, family and close friends are worth more of my time than my atari. 3 - i'm going off to Europe for 3 months in August, so i wouldn't be able to do anything for the company at that time anyways. This note DOES NOT imply that Branch Always is going under. Not in the slightest. My partner, Darek Mihocka, will be continuing with the company, running it as a sole proprietorship, with myself being paid royalties for Quick Tools sales (since i authored most of the tools). Quick ST II and the Quick Tools WILL CONTINUE TO BE SUPPORTED as fully as possible, except people will have to bother Darek instead of me from now on with orders, questions, bugs, etc. An announcement on a new address, phone numbers, etc should be posted within a week or so. I still FULLY support the Atari world in all respects, but my priorities have changed over the last few months. My job at Electrohome is very rewarding, and i don't really need the extra income from Branch Always, since i don't feel like investing the extra time anymore. BUT, while in Europe, i plan to visit Germany to see the really exceptional development that is going on over there for the atari, as well as trying my luck as a salesman for Branch Always Software (crack the German market) (i've always wanted to try marketing!!!) so, to make a long story short, I thank everyone on the net for their help and support over the last year i've been involved with Branch Always in all the questions i've asked, and i especially thank all those loyal Atarians who have supported our venture. Just keep it up (who knows, Darek may yet become a millionaire off of the Atari!) too-de-loo! -- ========Ignac A.
