The newest version of Emacs (3.10, I think) is at best a mixed blessing. It supports the mouse, but as a result, it will not run in a Gemini window, it will not run in Beckemeyer's VSH, it blanks out lower-priority tasks in Beckmeyer's MT C-Shell because it is waiting for mouse input instead of just calling GEMDOS for keystrokes, and it is just generally a bad neighbour. People writing TOS editors: PLEEEEEEAAAAAASE use only GEMDOS and BIOS text functions and the VT 52 emulator to implement your editors. There are so few which don't screw around one way or the other. What's the point for a millisecond of scrolling speed, when it doesn't work with anything? David Megginson BITNET: meggin@vm.epas.utoronto.ca --- * Via ProDoor 3.1R
