[net.wanted] Thanks for help with 'compress'

I waited until no more responses to our questions about 'compress' were
sent.  The time has come to say many thanks to the following for their
helpful replies:

All suggested compiling with the '-f' option, which works like a charm.
John Nelson sent us a copy of compress, Version 4, which was offered by
others as well.  It solves all problems.

One curious note - even version 1.6 compiles and executes properly on a
7300.  Does any one know of any other ugly differences between the C
compilers on the 3B2/400 and the 7300?
