[comp.sys.atari.st] 44 Meg SyQuest Removable Drive and SCSI interface?

umwestm0@ccu.umanitoba.ca (Michael Westmore) (06/30/90)

Has anyone hooked up a 44 Meg SyQuest Removable drive to an ST? What
kind of SCSI interface is good for this and where can you get one?
        Thanks,
           Michael

I have two Atari Megafile 44, one at home and one at work. They are very
reliable. I find it very confident to take the cartridge with me and
have the same working environment here and there.

You do not need a SCSI interface for the Megafile 44. You just plug it
in and start working. In fact, you can install an additional SCSI
harddisk in the case. You only need to open the case and use the
already-there plug to connect the harddisk - at least I was told so. (I
did not yet open the case for it is still under warranty.)

Yes, the Atari Megafile 44 is available in the US, and has been for several
months now... Atari quietly slipped it into distribution with no fanfare,
no marketing, and very little availability.

They're available at your local Atari dealer... if you're lucky enough to
live anywhere near the approximately 43 Atari dealers left in the entire
country...

You might call Atari Corp and see if they'll sell you one directly... or
a better idea might be to contact a company that's actually interested in
selling a product like this, like Toad Computers or ABCO for example.
