It has been ported to the Atari ST where it replaces GEM/TOS during boot-up (though you still have access to graphics calls). OS-9 is relatively UNIX-like in its process model and filesystem, but doesn't use virtual memory and is _far_ less memory intensive. Much UNIX source code can be and has been easily ported to OS-9.
