I don't know about you, but I bought my first ATARI way back in 1981. Since that time I've heard the same arguments over and over (it's a games machine, will go out of production soon, inferior to XXX, etc.) and still Atari Corp. is alive and kicking. When the sales were going down for the ATARI 8-bit machines in 1985, I switched to the ST as the cheapest alternative then, but believe it or not, I can still buy *new* XL's and software here in Germany. The oldest software I have for the 8-bit is dated 1979, thus, if the ST were to die today, we would still see it in use in 1995. The ST does all I want for me, and, being a professinal PC programmer, I don't want *that* kind of crap on my table at home, *EVER*. I like my ST, though I'll probably replace my 520 with an ST soon, and will carry on the ST flag like I do for the 8-bit series. If you don't agree with me, you're reading the wrong newsgroup. Leave us ST users alone and go read comp.sys.whatever.you.like or even comp.sys,atari.8-bit (yes, it still exists and is used :-) ).
