[net.wanted] What to do in Atlanta?

yoda@ittatc.ATC.ITT.UUCP (Todd C. Williams [Jedi Knight]) (02/06/86)

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong newsgroup; I lost the original
article... I posted this to net.singles, but I think the original question
was asked here in net.wanted...

The following is taken (without permission) from a survey of the best
"singles bars" in the country, by major city. The following is the
entry for Atlanta. I have heard nothing but *GREAT* things about
The Limelight in Atlanta. They say it's even better than The Limelight
in NYC. (I don't know if there is any connection)

I hope this is of some help to you. I also hope that this posting does not
provoke a discussion of "the evils of 'singles bars'" or anything like that.

The above does not represent the opinions of my employer OR even of myself;
I'm just passing on something that I read, OK? So LIGHTEN UP everybody!

As a resident of Atlanta, I can agree that there are a number of excellent
night spots to attend. I personally prefer a few smaller clubs, but of the
larger ones, Sneakers is a great place to party. It is everything they say
it is, and more. Another place to check into while in Atlanta, is Timothy
John's. It is a smaller club, playing top 40 music. It has less of a
'meat market' appeal than Sneakers, and is usually filled with middle class
people as opposed to Yuppies. They usually have live music, including the
Tom Gross (sp?) band. It is a nice change from the fast paced Sneakers.
Sneakers is less 'radical' than the Limelight, but generally attracts older
patrons.
All in all, Atlanta is a great place to live, and have a good time!
