There's a * lot * of nifty "demos" and similar things for the
Atari ST around. What does the net think about posting of these to the
binaries newsgroup?

Is there something that causes any trouble with this, except the
physical size of the programs? (about 200-300 kb, but I've seen those
who have been 2 Mb and even more!)

These programs could do us all a favour since they in a very
impressive way shows what the ST can do, it's graphical capabilities and
the not-so-bad-after-all soundchip.

This is my opinion. What's yours?

By all means! Please post those demos that will display the in/abilities of
the ST! As long as it is PD and it is a valuable program that people will want
there should be no problem with posting it. Just dont u/l programs you wrote
that no one will use and take up valuable net time. Please, people like me
much prefer d/ling from the net than anywhere else...

(hey, what can I say, its free...;-)

There is only one small problem about posting demos....
Some of them have special-format disks (like the Union-Demo, AMiga Demo,
B.I.G- Demo etc) and can not be read and packed....

I have received several positive letters about this posting, but no
negative mails at all. The only letter I got which were not agreeing
were a mail that said some demos could not be posted since they were
bootable disk on special formats. That is a problem, but not of
any significanse to this question.

SHOULD DEMOS BE POSTED TO COMP.BINARIES.ATARI.ST ?

Please respond by e-mail. I'll summarize to the net in a month when I
return from France.
(I'm going to Dijon - someone who's close? Please e-mail before july 16th!)

I've been off the system for about 2 months; what has happened to BINARIES?

As good as nothing, unfortunately.
