I tried sending directly to double click, but I can't seem to reach the address I used to be able to: uace0@uhnix2 (that is another question!). No matter how I configure dcdesktop (i.e. either: 1. CONTROL deletes files permanently, or 2. CONTROL copies deleted files to TRASH [folder]), I can only get a deleted file to be copied to TRASH by holding down CONTROL. Is this a common problem/ or does it have something to do with auto folder programs and accs? (I know quickSTII v 2.1 causes problems with the icons on the desktop...) Any ideas would be appreciated. --Gerry ggreenbe@rodan.acs.syr.edu maxg@suvm (bitnet)

Gerry - Be sure you are saving the configuration to the DCDSKTOP.PRG in your AUTO folder. The recoverable trashcan does function as advertised. For DC Desktop to move files to the trash directory when a delete operation is performed, do this: 1) Configure DC Desktop from the DC Configurator so the toggle option button reads: <CONTROL> Permanently Deletes Files 2) Save your configuration to DCDSKTOP.PRG in your AUTO folder. 3) Check to make sure the TRASH Directory in the configurator and the actual directory you have created on your drive are both the same. You do not need to reboot to have this take effect, it is immediate. This will make the delete operation default to a recoverable delete. We are still at uace0@uhnix2.uh.edu We've just moved, so I've not been on as frequently, but all is back to the status quo. - mike -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Double Click Me | Double Click Software | P.O.
