Thanks to all who responded to my problem with zoo not creating
directories. There is nothing wrong with the various versions of zoo
I was using---the problem was the way I was calling them from msh. I
was typing zoo x//. filename instead of zoo 'x//.' filename . The
quotes are necessary because "/" is the escape character in msh. I
have been using Unix too long to think of anything except "\" as the
escape. Sorry for being so quick to post news about this---a little
more experimentation would have enabled me to figure it out for myself.
