A member of my local User's Group is currently thinking about getting one of the PC Emulators for his ST. He has gathered enough info from locals about PC-DITTO II and PC-Speed. What he can't get any info on is SuperCharger. So, is there anyone out there on the Net who has SuperCharger, or at least knows how it works, how well it works, what it's specs are, etc.? Please respond by E-mail, and I will post a summary if there seems to be an interest. Thanks. -- Timothy A. I was really curious to see what would happen if I wrote a program on the ST compiled under Laser C and then recompiled it in Turbo C in Supercharger mode. Although screen manipulations are slow on it, everything else seems to be quite fast. I used an Othello program, and noticed a 1.23 speed increase factor when I was in Supercharger mode as compared to my ST in native TOS mode (even though I had quickst installed). So I guess that I am going to use it for heavy number crunching from now on.. -- |S. Has anyone received the new software update for SuperCharger yet? The newest version should be 1.40 . The reason I ask is because the newest version is supposed to be able to run IBM programs and Atari ST programs at the same time and because it should be shipping fairly soon. If anyone does (or just wants to talk about their SuperCharger experiences), e-mail me at the addresses below. Also does anyone know if there is a new version of the SupraDrive software beyond 3.01 - I thought I remembered reading about an update somewhere. -David ============================================================================== dhe@uafhcx.uark.edu David Ewing, University of Arkansas dhe@uafb15.uark.edu Computer Science Engineering "Parents of young organic lifeforms are warned that towels can be harmful if swallowed in large quanities." -The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy ==============================================================================

I read in ST Report or ZNET that the software that accesses the Supercharger from the ST is going to be a desk accessory. You can have the IBM programs running on the Supercharger and ST programs running on the ST. When you want to check on the IBM stuff, just select it under the Desk menu and the terminal should come up. At least that's what the guy said from Talon.
