I Am about to embark on learning C on mt St. I will basically be teaching myself, but anyhow, here's my question. I just read about HiSoft C Interpreter. Does anyone recommend/not recommend this? If You recommend it, can it be used in conjunction with Sozobon C, or will I have to buy some other C package? All help appreciated. -Frank -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frank Rachel | Internet:Dnd15j9z@Umiami.Miami.edu | University Of Miami ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

HiSoft C Interpreter has some strange features (and some bugs too!). One of the most strange and disagreable feature is that you can only examine extern variables. The interpreter is absolutely blind about automatic variables. IMHO I would say that Aztec C with sdb (Aztec C source level debugger) or Mark Williams C with csd (MW debugger), are mutch better choices. -- -------------------- Rogerio Reis UUCP: rvr@nccup.pt Centro de Informatica da Universidade do Porto EAN: rvr@ncc.up.ctt.pt R.Campo Alegre, 823, 4000 Porto, PORTUGAL Telef: +351 2 6001672
