I am still trying to recover the files I lost due to corruption of the first directory sector. Unfortunately, none of the sector editors will read sectors and write them to a file, they just copy sectors (to the same location). So it seems that I will need to do a little proogramming. Alas, I can't speak C! :-) (I will learn, someday, honest...). In the book "Presenting the Atari ST" from Abacus, it says that there is a XBIOS function (number 8) that "Read diskette sector. This function reads one or more sectors from the diskette." As GFA Basic (2.0) can make XBIOS calls, can anybody tell me what are the parameters and correct usage of this call?
