[comp.sys.atari.st] Gnu cpp

david@doe.utoronto.ca (David Megginson) (09/03/90)

I posted a message to this effect before, but then our system died and we
lost news for a couple of weeks. I have the gcc 1.37 release from Terminator.
I love it, but I cannot get the preprocessor to work correctly under
MT CShell (it will send output to stdout, but not to a file). Before our
machine died, I had managed to get the entire source code from Terminator.
It took over a week to order the source piecemeal, and it is all gone now
with the crash. In any case, I could make little sense of it.

Could someone send me the ACTUAL SOURCE, #ifdef's and all, used to create
the gnu preprocessor, so I can find and fix the problem? Thanks. Dave
Beckemeyer has already fixed the only problem I could find in RTX, so I
do not know what could be causing this problem. I will inform D.B. when
I find the cause.

In article <1990Sep2.193428.13722@doe.utoronto.ca> david@doe.utoronto.ca
(David Megginson) talks about problems using Gnu C with RTX / MT C-Shell.

J.R. Bammi has found and fixed one problem related to the GGC startup
and RTX (and Mint etc.). He sent me a new crt0.c file which corrects
the problem, and he told me that the current version of GCC on terminator
has the fix. What's required is to re-compile the runtime code with
the new crt0.c.

If anyone wants this new crt0.c, I can mail it to you. It's also
available on the BDT BBS at (415) 530-9682.

Sorry, the binaries of gcc with the correct crt0.c are NOT currently
available available on terminator, but on {picasso|dsrgsun}.ces.cwru.edu
i'll put a copy on terminator asap.
