OK, so some people say that Yes, Genesis, and all those old guard groups are
innovative, changing with the times, and altogether deserve getting our bucks.
Others say that these groups are not innovative, and are about as stagnant as
larvae-infested rain barrel.

Now, one of the nice things about classical music is that it has been studied
and the greatness of a work or a composer is usually related to its more
innovative aspects. This makes listening to classical music both a learning
and emotional experience. Perhaps in the next century, the "classical" music
of this century will also have received further study and make a substantial
dent in 21st Century record collections (or whatever they'll be calling records
then).

The challenge is to do the same for the popular music you enjoy.
Try to determine what's innovative.
I've thought about it for a little while, and I've come to a cynical
conclusion which I won't burden you with. Give it a try.
