Sound injected into this gets mixed with sounds from the noise chips in the ST (and the DMA sampled sound in the STE), and come out the 'audio out' port. Seriously, it is useful to have the pin there; it means one can hang sound samplers inside the case, rather than dangling in the cartridge port. Still need extra connectors if one wants to add samplers of stereo sound. Question: What are the pins on the Monitor jack of the STE, labled 'clock' ?
