Can anybody explain the problem and (hopefully) a possible solution to this? My mouse was having problems tracking up and down (left and right were fine). Sometimes it would move only down, sometimes only up. After much careful experimentation inside the cover, I found that if the cover was left off, it worked fine, but if you put your hand over the insides, blocking out all the light, it would start messing up again. Obviously, this indicates problems with the photoresistors or LEDs or such, but I was wondering if there was a simpler solution. If not, anybody know where I can get a nice new mouse? Ian

> ... anybody know where I can get a nice new mouse? > Ian Call E. Arthur Brown Co. at (612)762-8847 and ask to talk with Mr. Brown himself. Lsat I heard, he had 4 different mice?mouses?meeces in stock, ranging from the original ST mouse at $40, to a beautiful cordless model at $80 (? don't quote me on that price). I got a high-res optomechanical one made by Practical Solutions (?) that I really like. The button travel is a little farther than I'm used to, but I wouldn't consider that a serious drawback. I've had several dealings with EABCo. and they're very honest, prompt, trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,... Consider this an endorsement. Regards Ray Depew rrd@hpfitst1.hp.com
