[comp.sys.atari.st] Mac Emulation- What about Magic Sac

jmack@b11.ingr.com (Cery McCormick) (10/12/90)

I have the opportunity to buy a Magic Sac with the ROMs at what
seems to be a good price. ($20) Could anyone please tell me how good or
bad this device is at emulating a Mac???

Check first to see if they're the 128K ROMs. If they are, then it's worth
the price just for the RAMs. You can use Magic Sac "as is", but to really
make yourself happy, buy a new Spectre GCR to go with the ROMs.

Magic Sac was an early (the original?) Mac emulator for the ST. Spectre GCR
is its most recent reincarnation. Sac required you to transfer everything
from the Mac disks to non-Mac disks in a roundabout way, while Spectre lets
you read/write the Mac disks directly.

Worth the money.
