[comp.sys.atari.st] Another Atari dealer is dying

darekm@microsoft.UUCP (Darek MIHOCKA) (11/13/90)

This is NOT an advertizement. A couple of months ago I posted a phone number
where people could call to order Quick ST by phone. This phone number was
the number of Xanth Computers, a local Seattle computer dealer that came to me
and offered to handle my phone and credit card sales. They apparently have been
mailing out orders as promised, but I have started receiving email from people
that have been waiting several weeks for their orders. When they phone Xanth
they are told by one of the salesmen that they cannot ship anything because
they are waiting for me to restock them. I am at Xanth everyday to check on
their supply, and when I checked a few days ago they had several copies of
Quick ST on the shelf. I have also been trying to get paid for all these
orders. Their excuse for the last 3 weeks has been that they have had bills to
pay and don't have the money. Their store is pretty empty almost all of the
time. If I do not get my check this week, I am taking them to small claims
court to salvage what I can. My suspicion is that Xanth is yet another Atari
ST dealer about to go belly up, and they came to me to make some quick cash to
pay their bills. They now owe me several thousand dollars, which they do
not seem to want to give to me. I am no longer stocking them with any product,
and am posting this message to all the boards and services to warn people to
not do any business with them. Phone orders, or walk ins. Do not call
(206)-643-9697 to order _anything_. I recommend placing orders with a large
mail order dealer such as Joppa or BRE Software.
