[comp.sys.atari.st] buy

Hey, just saw that Atari stock is down to 2 1/8! Maybe all Atari owners should
pull together some cash, get a lot of stock and finally get the company to
listen!

Even Nolan Bushnell's working for Commodore now...............:(

If you ever have nothing to do, try copying a DS disk with TOS 1.0..........

Someone above mentioned how nice the Mac desktop is. I'm not too familiar with
them, but when I was using one it seemed impossible to name folders and you
couldn't directly copy files or decide what you wanted a name of a backup to be
or................ maybe I was using an old Mac, but I'd probably still prefer
the intuitive but annoying TOS 1.0....................

Any bets as to when Atari will fold or merge or who might buy it?

Don't you know that Atari will never die, just hemhorrage forever?
Seriously though, if they don't do some *SERIOUS* marketing of their new
stuff, they may actually die. Amigas are advertised all over the place,
constantly, in non-computer publications etc., but it's a big deal when
Atari places one single ad. I mean, I've seen their ads for the Lynx and
Portfolio, good products both, but an STe/TT ad? Nada.

BTW, disk copying with TOS 1.0 is best done with a ramdisk. Also, you
can do a *LOT* of things with the Mac desktop that you can't do on an
ST, a good example being placing files/folders on the desktop... a
fundamental thing, to me.

Get a Spectre GCR-- the ultimate alternative desktop for the ST.

I AGREE.

Goodness, the only thing I use my ST for is Turbo C programming, which is
the only program I find an actual JOY to run on the ST.

Anything else, if I didn't have my Mac emulator....I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD
DO...probably drool all day long at PM 4.0, Word 4.0, Mathematica, VersaTerm,
Finder....GOD what would we do without Finder???

PS: I WOULD run this stuff NOW, but I don't have my MEGA that I ordered OVER
    6 weeks ago!!!

What the hell is going on? Its Xmas shopping season and Atari doesn't even
have anything to sell??? Thats F'ed.
