About a year ago I saw the full page ad in STart for WordUp v3.0. It promised wonderful things, including importing Wordperfect files and editing math equations. Wow, I thought, an alternative to Wordperfect that will be supported and offers more features!! Boy, what a fool I was. I bought v2.0 as the ad suggested. It promised v3.0 by Feb. 1990. I waited 7 months for v3.0 instead. I waited 3 more months for Disk #1 to be "fixed". When Disk #1 finally arrived, Neocept asked for Disk #5 and a stamped self-addressed envelope...they had to update the printer drivers. I thought this was sleazy...but I didn't want to be a "whiner" <grin>...and I did want a nice, working word processor. So I sent an envelope, a short note and 75 cents in US coin taped to the disk. ( In Canada you cannot buy US stamps. Two disks had been mailed to me from California for 75 cents, so I figured that was more than enough for 1 disk. ) Two months later ( last week ) the envelope arrived rubber stamped with "Return for Postage". The disk had not been updated AND the 75 cents was ripped off...with bits of tape left behind!! How cheap and inconsiderate can one be? I have phoned Neocept twice in the last few days...no answer. ( I tried 805-484-2041, and the operator gave me 645-5666 to try. ) I have waited almost a year for a usable word processor. I think it is reasonable that my patience end. This is bulls**t customer service. I have returned the package to my dealer. My dealer had no obligation to look after Neocept's incompetence, but he offered to look after his customer. WARNING TO ANY NEOCEPT EMPLOYEE: Do not come to a show in Toronto or Windsor/Detroit area. You might meet an angry fellow.
