[note: I posted this to world since Atari users seem interested in
what things cost in other countries.]
I just got this information from my local Atari dealer (gosh, I
actually have 2 of them!) from his new price list.
Atari TT (32MHz 68030,...we know the specs)
(These are Suggested Retail Price)
2megsRam/50megHD --- $2999.95
4megsRam/50megHD --- $3499.95
8megsRam/80megHD --- $4299.95
TT color monitor -- $549.95
(forgot to ask about the 2-page monitor)
Yes, the TT does include a 68882 (not 881) FPU !! Yeah!
Keyboard is included
My dealer said he could lower the price quite a bit and still
make a good profit. Expect street prices to be about 3/4 of MSRP.
For some comparison here are some Mac prices here at Brown (education
pricing)
MacIIsi (20MHz 68030, one slot,no fpu)
2/40HD --- $2,426.46
5/80HD --- $2,941.50
MacIIci (25MHz 68030, 3 slots, 68882)
1/nohd --- $3,776.22
4/80HD --- $4,232,43
Mac keyboard -- $152.07 (the one similar to the TT's)
Apple 13" RGB color monitor --- $664.89
(yes, there is another color monitor but this one is similar to
the TT's)
Of course, no word on release data. No prices on MegaSTe's.
Hope you find this interesting!
Marshall
