A couple of days ago I posted a positive message about supporting your local dealer and how, basically, you'll be better off than mail order. I guess I have it lucky though. An STer I know sent me mail describing some of his unfortunate interactions with his local dealer. I know that there are a lot of bad apples in the bunch. Part of this stems from the fact that if you have one Atari dealer in a town (or MS-DOS or Mac for that matter), he can pretty much do and charge whatever he wants. I suppose the only thing you can do is tell the dealer this and tell him that you're going to do your business elsewhere. If you and others go to other dealers, soon the dealer will be out of business and it will be his problem that he charged so much. It's a tricky situation, like chicken and the egg I guess. Oh well, such is life. Happy computing. :^Z -- Ed Krimen ............................................... ||| Video Production Major, California State University, Chico ||| INTERNET: ekrimen@ecst.csuchico.edu FREENET: al661 / | \ SysOp, Fuji BBS: 916-894-1261 FIDONET: 1:119/4.0
