[comp.sys.atari.st] Problems with PLAYER.LZH

system@n6vbg.hamavnet.com (12/06/90)

Hello, everyone,

I just received the files PLAYER.LZH and BART.SND from the atari archive
site via mail.

I decompressed PLAYER.LZH, which created PLAYER.TTP, and tried to play the
sound file. However...all I get is some vertical bars on the screen, no
sound comes from the speaker, or anything else. I can abort the program
with the space bar as stated on the opening screen (which flashes real fast
!).

I tried the program both with my color and mono monitors, and I even put
the two files by themselves on a floppy and tried them that way in case the
player was not compatible with some of the stuff that gets loaded when I
boot the machine from the hard disk.

Any ideas? Am I missing something? No docs came with the file, by the way.

Thanks!

PLAYER is for playing Amiga Noisetracker modules on your ST.
(STEPLAY is for playing NT modules on your STe in stereo.) You need
another digitized sound player from atari.archive. I can't remember
what's on there so I can't offer any suggestions. Anything should be
fine.
