I purchased Frame Maker (Frame Technology) for the MAC and installed it using my Spectre GCR emulator. This tool works quite well. Everything seems to work. It is (of course) somewhat sluggish on an 8MHZ 68000, but it tolerable. I have seen it on a MAC cx with a large (1Kx1K) monitor and it really works nicely. In fact, I am impressed with how favorably it compares to our SparcStation Is at work given the supposed speed of the SUN Sparcs. In fact, one thing I noticed comparing Frame to WP in Microsoft Works is that Frame performance is uniform across file sizes (up to 100K in my tests) while WP shows significant performance degradation at 25K file size and up. Files are supposedly compatible across MAC(ATARI) and Suns, etc. I cannot verify that but others have. Sorry, I have never used Calamus and cannot compare it to Frame. -- Daryl Monge AT&T Bell Labs UUCP: att!ihuxy!daryl VOICE: 708-713-4696 PAPER: Rm 2A-448 P.O.
