[comp.sys.atari.st] SCSI CD ROM drive

seitz@netcom.UUCP (Matthew Seitz) (12/29/90)

I recently acquired a Philips CM110 SCSI CD ROM player. Any hints on how I can
hook this up to my Atari ST? I have an old Supra 20Mb hard disk (only one
connector on the back, no clock calender). Can I use its SCSI controller to
hook up to the CD ROM and the Hard Disk. Any sources of drivers and other
software?

Well here is a stab in the dark for you. I have 2 cdar504's on my bbs
they are the ATari cd_roms. they have a chinon engine in them with a
Chinion "ASCI" -"Atari Small Computer Interface" adaptor in them.

My guess is yes you could them to work. Atari has released to its developers
and with its sales of the cdar504's a program called MetaDos. I am sorry
to say Meta_dos is not Public Domain so I can not post it to the net
for you. My guess is you would have to hack the BIOS driver to suit
your cd_rom as well.

Contact your local Atari rep or company and ask if you obtain a copy
of Meta_dos.

You should be able to use your "Supra" interface / ICD interface to
drive it.

Let me know how you get on.

Jon Clarke.
