I have recently upgraded to TOS 1.4 and I am also a Neodesk 3 user. I seem to have come across a problem with this combination. When in Lattice Cv5, I have to set up various environment variables to show where the binaries/libs/headers etc are. This information is then saved into a tool .inf file, which is then used once entering the compiler the next time. However, whenever I enter Lattice, the said .inf file is never re-read, hence the environment variables are empty. If I execute Lattice from the normal Atari desktop, this problem does not occur. The problem did not occur also with Neodesk with my old TOS 1.2. Installing Lattice within Neodesk, to make sure the program has its current working directory in the same place as the .inf file (namely, the text or program path), does no solve the problem. I can of course set up the environment variables within Neodesk. Whilst this does work fine for Lattice, it causes problems for other programs I use. For example, DevPac2 will look at the bin variable to find MonST rather than look at its cwd, hence being set up for the Neodesk bin, means it can't find it. I have a copy of MonST in the lattice bin, just as a temporary solution. Further to this, I recently found that DevPac2 also has a problem with its cwd, in that it too can never find a saved data file, meaning defaults are always used. So, taking into account it is not only Lattice which loses its data files, but also DevPac, and this problem is not encountered from the normal desk, could this possibly be a bug with Neodesk3 in TOS 1.4. Or, as I hope, is it a simple matter of using some 'feature' within Neodesk, that I am not aware of. I only solve it temporarily by recopying LC.prg from a floppy again. Guess it's time to contact Gribnif. I also have problems occasionally, when dragging files to arcgshl (I'm still looking into what is being done by Neodesk Ranier... 8-) > If I execute Lattice from the normal Atari desktop, this problem > does not occur.
