[comp.sys.atari.st] DM1: Level 11-Clockwise Room

johnu@syma.sussex.ac.uk (John E Upham) (02/07/91)

Well being thick I have got stuck in the first few metres of level 11.
Going round and round ad nauseam clockwise forwards does nothing and
going in reverse I find an iron key near the writing and a foot plate
bit of armour. However, apart from this diversion I cant see anywhere to
shove the key and escape this prison.

I'm sure all you level 11 + people are laughing now...I told you so..
etc. etc.

Ok How the fuck do you get out of here ???

Well, you're right, I *am* grinning. On one of the walls you see a sign
that says "TURN BACK". Think of all the different ways you can do that.
You can turn around and go the way you came, you can walk backwards, (looking
over your shoulder occasionally), or you go back the way you came, walking
backwards -- in addition to walking normally.

If it will help you, do the Hansel & Gretel bit again, and drop things at
every corner. The next time you round a corner, you will see that they've
disappeared -- no they haven't, you've only been transported to another room.
The "see through walls" spell might help you figure things out.

This is a very frustrating part of the dungeon, and I never did figure it
out completely. I was glad to get through it, and only used the skeleton-
key stairs from then on.

To get out of this area, you need to keep going around the ring
facing various directions both clockwise and anti-clockwise. Stop after
each step and spin in place, looking around to see if anything changed.
