[comp.sys.atari.st] Neoodesk 3 bug with TOS 1.4

lhf@ukc.ac.uk (L.H.Fuller) (02/18/91)

This is a re-post, since with the exception of someone asking me to post
the answer, I had no replies.

---------------------------------------

I have recently upgraded to TOS 1.4 and I am also a Neodesk 3
user. I seem to have come across a problem with this combination.

When in Lattice Cv5, I have to set up various environment variables
to show where the binaries/libs/headers etc are. This information is then
saved into a tool .inf file, which is then used once entering the compiler
the next time. However, whenever I enter Lattice, the said .inf file is
never re-read, hence the environment variables are empty.

If I execute Lattice from the normal Atari desktop, this problem
does not occur. The problem did not occur also with Neodesk with my old
TOS 1.2. Installing Lattice within Neodesk, to make sure the program has
its current working directory in the same place as the .inf file (namely,
the text or program path), does no solve the problem.

I can of course set up the environment variables within Neodesk.
Whilst this does work fine for Lattice, it causes problems for other programs
in use on my system.

Is there someone connected with Gribnif on the Net? Has this bug
been fixed, or is there some simple solution?

Thanks in advance for any help offered,

Lee.
