[comp.sys.atari.st] Neodesk/TOS1.4 irritations

lhf@ukc.ac.uk (L.H.Fuller) (02/19/91)

I tried to mail you, but it bounced 8-(

I suppose it 's a pretty general (if it seems relatively unrecognised)
problem, so the reply is posted below...

	Thanks for the reply.

Alas, I think I have tried both of your suggestions. The environment
variables from the desktop are empty I assume, yet it works okay from here.
Lattice usually looks at its cwd for the tool file, but I have installed it
as an application and made it look at the data file directory, but in both
cases it just will not load any tool data held there within.

By setting the variables in Neodesk works, in that Lattice then
inherits these. It doesn't seem to look at PATH to find where the data file
is, instead I assume it is supposed to look at its cwd. So it generally means
I have to keep variables set within Neodesk for inheritance into Lattice,
which I have to then remove when it mucks up certain other programs.

Anyway thanks. I'm pretty convinced that it is a Neodesk3/TOS1.4
bug at the moment, and I've yet to hear otherwise unfortunately.

Thanx,

Lee.
