Somone in our club has noticed that certain placemats work very well as a mousepad, not the hi-priced kind you have seen in tourist traps with the photos on them, but the cheap plain ones, with a little bit of sponginess to them. I imagine that one advantage of this kind of pad would be the ease of cleaning. Just imagine spilling jelly from your toast onto a mouse pad. :-).
